Ever so quickly the new month came along. The pages of my journal and calendar turn and before I even managed to sort out all the dozens of pictures from New Year’s Eve, a quarter of the year has already passed.
During the last months I was following a course in creative writing and therefore I decided to decidate this month’s favourite list is dedicated to writing, poetry and the art of words:
Find daily poetry infusion at „A Poet reflects“
Henry Miller’s 11 commandments (on writing and life)
Billy Wilder’s advice on writing
Advertising guru David Ogilvy on how to write
Have you ever heard of the „morning pages“? No? You can find out more here and here. I am currently trying a two week experiment and we’ll see how it goes. Around the www I’ve found overwhelmingly positive results like these.
Famous words from Paul Auster on a writer’s life:
„Surely it is an odd way to spend your life—sitting alone in a room with a pen in your hand, hour after hour, day after day, year after year, struggling to put words on pieces of paper in order to give birth to what does not exist, except in your head. Why on earth would anyone want to do such a thing? The only answer I have ever been able to come up with is: because you have to, because you have no choice.“
Welcome, April! Let’s make it a creative month!
